Miracle Sunday Initiative
Across the globe, congregations will participate in Miracle Sunday a one-time offering to support theological education for future pastors in Africa, Europe, and the Philippines.
In the United States, more than 70% of United Methodist clergy have advanced theological degrees (Pastor Gayle and Pastor Jaye have Master of Divinity Degrees). In many parts of Africa, Europe, and the Philippines, fewer than 5% of clergy have access to that same opportunity.
Miracle Sunday is about changing that.
The goal of this offering is to help create permanent funding for 500 scholarships every year so future pastors can receive theological education, pastoral training, and leadership development in their own contexts and communities.
This reminds us that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves! Crossroads may gather in Fayetteville, but we are connected to a worldwide church. When we give, we are helping equip pastors who will serve communities experiencing poverty, conflict, migration, rapid change, and incredible growth in faith.
We’ve set a goal of raising $2,000 so we can fully support one international student. What an incredible witness that would be for our church.
Sometimes miracles look less like magic and more like people choosing generosity together.
I hope you’ll prayerfully consider being part of it this Sunday.
